The initial examination is carried out in a separate room from
the ongoing treatments (main treatment bays are pictured in the Sun Prairie and
Middleton pages). It is a very brief inspection of the teeth
to determine orthodontic status of the patient. The findings are discussed
with the parents and patient and a course of action prescribed where
indicated. The most common next step is diagnostic records, which
constitutes a thorough review of the case. Often, it is
necessary to set up recall visits for the patient if the most appropriate treatment
would be at a later date and level of maturity of the dentition. Both the initial and recall examinations are free
of charge (unless an x-ray is necessary and would only be done with
your approval).
