With diagnostic records completed the task of determining a
proper course of action is next.
The cephalometric analysis of the
lateral head film is done.
This analysis gives the orthodontist an understanding of the relationships of
the teeth and jaws.

The panoramic film is
reviewed for problems with bone density, roots of teeth, etc.

The photographic series is evaluated for
gum tissue problems,
profile considerations and as a double check that the study models are oriented
properly.

And finally the study models are reviewed and necessary
measurements taken from them.
