The mouth prop and retractors are removed and cement is mixed
for the bands. They are filled, making this part a little messy, but we
want a good seal on each band. It is first placed with finger or thumb
pressure.

Then the patient is asked to bite again to firmly seat the
band in its original fitted position.

When all four have been placed the patient is asked to bite on
some gauze for one to two minutes.

The gauze is removed and the bands are cleaned up with
scaling, water spray and vacuum. The brackets are also re-checked to be
sure all flash has been removed.

The cementation and clean-up is usually a 10 minute process.
